A FRIEND

After "Love", the word " friend" is the most commonly abused.

Friendship! This word entails a lot but a lot of people don't just get it. Well, let's see how deep it is.

Friendship has a great role to play in the life of every human. It is a ship that one must be on. It is said to be the state of being in a mutual affection with someone you have a bond with.

Who is a friend?

Do you have a friend or friends per se?

Growing up, I always heard people say that the best friend anyone can have is a mirror. I always wondered about this statement because I know that a mirror is an object so how can it portray the attributes of a best friend?

Gradually I was able to discover the mystery behind the statement. Another statement that caught my fancy was "Your pillow is your partner" how?

Well, I came to understand that these statements were generated out of the experience and came out to stand as a sort of comfort to some people.

Before understanding the concept of friendship, you must be able to understand yourself properly. By doing so, you can set down qualities you need to see in a person before associating with them.

Talking to people isn't a bad idea but relating with them personally is the major problem of most individuals.

There are people who your relationship with them hinders you from getting to where you're supposed to be.

If you're with a person and you discover that nothing good has been added to your life, honestly, that person is not worth being a friend.

People will say there are real friends and fake friends. True but listen- " A fake friend is no friend at all"- Zeala's blog.

Don't fool yourself!

There are two classes of people that come into your life- those that come as a lesson and those that come as a blessing.

Having experiences of certain things in life is good but you must not have all experiences and that is why people go through different things in life to stand as a spectator and a coach to others who haven't gone through them to prevent them from making the same mistake they made and shield them from the experience they had.

Whatever you go through, there must be a mistake that led to the situation. An experience without a mistake? It's a challenge.

Do you want to be my friend?

You must have the uncanny ability to read my mind and body expression before words pop out from my mouth(Telepathy).

You must have attractive humour to be able to make me laugh so hard.

You must be able to feel what I feel because you understand me and you are deeply connected to me.

Being able to retain anything we discuss in the vault is extremely one major quality I look out for because privacy is a sign of maturity and trust is the keyword of friendship.

You must be able to know my strengths and weaknesses, my capabilities to an extent and stand as a pillar of encouragement to me whenever I feel low.

Having my back no matter what happens is one attractive quality I desire in a friend. Respect! Essential. This is the most needed of all qualities my friend must possess.

However, for one to enjoy friendship, one must first be a friend to have a friend. Friendship isn’t a one party affair but a bond created by people who have mutual affection for each other.

All these qualities make a relationship worth it.

With all these qualities I have laid down, do you think I'll have lots of friends?

Do you think I'll let anyone walk into my life and act anyhow in the name of friendship? The qualities look easy to do but putting them into action is so not easy. One can do all this for only someone they value.

You don't lower your standard or value because you like someone. You like him/ her, wait to see if they do too. Give them the challenge and pray they beat it.
